The “Seed Night at EPFL” returns. For the second time the event helps start-ups and investors to connect. 20 innovation projects will be presented and several speakers will share their experience. Genkyotex collaborators have discovered the role of NOX in the development of atherosclerosis in diabetic mice. It is one factor leading to atherosclerotic plaque development. The scientists also showed that Genkyotex drug reduces this development.

BuddyBroker, eine neue Social-Recruiting-Plattform, hat mit Roland Zeller einen erfahrenen Internet-Unternehmer an Bord geholt. Zeller, Gründer des ersten Schweizer Internet-Reisebüros travel.ch, hat bereits das Schweizer Vorzeige Start-up GetYourGuide als Business Angel unterstützt.

For his Bachelor Thesis Tamino Fuchs asked entrepreneurs and experts about success factors for start-ups. Entrepreneurs such as Michael Näf (Doodle), Pascal Mathis (GetYourGuide), Junjun Chen (Housetrip), Sadik Hafizovic (Zurich Instruments) and experts such as Jochen Gnädinger (Technopark Luzern), Gian-Franco Salvato (serial entrepreneur) and Claus Niedermann (startupticker) shared their insights. The Thesis was written at the University of Applied Sciences and Arts Lucerne and commissioned by InnovationsTransfer Zentralschweiz.

The venture leaders program aims at promoting Swiss start-ups with a global potential by offering selectees a 10 day long U.S based business development program. The next trip starts in June. The profiles of the selected start-ups are now online and Swissnex Boston has started a dedicated blog including short videos of the participants.

QualySense AG, an EMPA-based start-up company that pioneers innovative grain and seed sorting technologies to set new quality standards in the food industry, announces today that it has appointed Beat Bühlmann to its board of directors. Beat is a Private Equity professional and active business angel.
