The Barça Innovation Hub (BIHUB) has made a strategic investment in the startup Riterz, a Swiss company redefining the sponsorship sector from a digital perspective by providing rights holders and brands with an innovative AO-powered platform.
Riterz’s platform enables rights holders to list their inventory, connect with clients, and easily manage sponsorship campaigns. At the same time, this tool offers brands smarter, data-driven sponsorship opportunities, creating a more efficient, scalable, and high-impact ecosystem.
The solution will enable FC Barcelona to optimise the structuring and analysis of its sponsorship assets, drive greater engagement among club members, and enhance commercial performance through data-based decision-making. In addition, the agreement marks a significant step in BIHUB’s commitment to fostering innovation in the sports industry, further consolidating its role as a key player in the sports technology ecosystem.
Riterz’s product creates a dynamic marketplace for rights holders and brands, transforming traditional sponsorships into something more detailed and data-rich. Rights holders can automatically generate profiles with over 70 key data categories, such as audience demographics, activity on social media, and engagement metrics. This allows brands to review, analyse, and make data-driven sponsorship decisions in real time, leading to more strategic and impactful partnerships.
Riterz also leverages AI-driven matchmaking between businesses to connect rights holders with the most relevant brands. By analysing fan data, brand affinities, and shared values, the platform ensures highly accurate sponsorship matches that maximise results.
With this investment, Riterz thus becomes the tenth startup in BIHUB’s portfolio. Àngel Riudalbas, FC Barcelona director responsible for BIHUB, commented: "Riterz offers a solution to an existing need in the sector and strengthens decision-making for brands as well as teams, competitions and federations. Its platform offers sponsorship management formulas, facilitating the connection with brands, the execution of smart campaigns and the measurement of impact in real time. This is the future of sponsorship and we are excited to be part of it."
Martin Gruber, CEO and founder of Riterz, added: “Every other industry—hospitality, travel, retail—has been transformed by digital, yet in sports sponsorship outdated practices still prevail. With digital sponsorship set to grow fivefold in the next few years, our partnership with Barça will help build a tech solution for rights holders and brands to thrive in this new era.”
