    We want more

    Dear reader

The momentum has accelerated in the Swiss start-up scene over the past year. We have reported on more start-ups and more successes, and the supporter scene has changed too. This inspires confidence in the year ahead, for it is clear that the Swiss start-up scene has to evolve in order to fully exploit the potential that exists in this country.

The positive developments in 2015 have also been reflected in startupticker’s coverage again this week:

Fintech collaborations: Contovista has launched its Personal Finance Management solution at Zürcher Kantonalbank, and is partnering not only with ZKB, but also with the credit card issuer Viseca.

Development of support services: CTI Invest is launching a close partnership with the Swiss Start Up Factory, and the offer will be revised and expanded. The Swiss Start Up Factory is also providing a new digital media accelerator programme with Goldbach, for which start-up companies are currently being sought. Mass Challenge has announced that it will carry out an international accelerator programme in Geneva next year.

More numerous and promising start-ups: IMD has announced the 25 winners of its Startup Competition. The Volkswirtschaft Foundation has granted four young companies an interest-free loan, and at Venture Kick IRSweep and Advanon each received CHF 130,000 in start-up capital.

Financing: this week alone more than CHF 20 million flowed into Swiss start-ups. Sophia Genetics, Inthera and Xeltis all reported the conclusion of financing rounds. And GeNeuro gained a strategic investor who will support the final phase of a drug development with up to CHF 350 million.

The overall figures on investments in Swiss start-ups in 2015 will be revealed in the Swiss Venture Capital Report, which we will present at the two brunches in Zurich and Lausanne in January.

A few reports can be expected before the end of the year, particularly when it comes to financing. We will keep you informed and it will be worth looking at our website or tweets.

The next newsletter will appear on 8 January 2106. Until then, startupticker wishes you a peaceful Christmas and a happy New Year.
