Green start-ups in demand

In traditionally oriented industries, start-ups can find it difficult to convince conservative-minded customers of their innovations. This week has shown that diverse opportunities for cleantech start-ups to meet this challenge are available.
One way is through a partnership, as Ben Energy has discovered: the German Association of Municipal Utilities Supporting Sustainable Resource Management will offer BEN’s customer engagement solution to its 270 members. Plus MAT has also signed a partnership agreement with a Chinese solar cell manufacturer; the contract marks an important milestone in Plus MAT’s CTI China Market Entry Camp programme.
SwissECS, the leading conference for energy and climate issues in Switzerland, offers a prime opportunity to meet potential corporate customers in the energy and cleantech sector. It takes place on 3 and 4 September in Bern and thanks to our partnership with the organisers, we have 10 significantly reduced tickets for young entrepreneurs – CHF80 instead of CHF740. Additional interesting deals for cleantech start-ups include MatchMeUp from Impact Hub Zurich, where young companies can recruit experienced staff, and EnergieSchweiz’s competition for innovative apps.
Start-ups have also benefited from support from other industries. As part of the CTI US Market Validation Camp, medtech start-up SamanTree was able to validate its technology with two well-known hospitals.
Apropos medtech, the CTI Medtech Event takes place in Bern on 2 September with an exciting programme just for start-ups. Those who have not registered yet should do so in the coming days.
I would also like to point to an article about the Lausanne start-up WiCard. The team is on a ‘start-up vacation’ in Poland, where it lives and works together for a month. The first experiences have been very good.
