The i4Challenge offers a platform to help innovators promote their industry 4.0 product or service. The New Ideas track for the i4Challenge, now in its 3rd year, is open to students, intrapreneurs, entrepreneurs and tech teams.
The next phase of the industrial revolution is in full speed: Industry 4.0 embraces interconnectivity, automation, machine learning, real-time data, teams, organization and new business models. It’s not just about new technology and tools to improve efficiency – it’s about revolutionizing the way a business operates and grows while meeting customers’ and suppliers’ expectations. To foster this process and to promote innovative ideas that address challenges in the industry, Basel Area Business & Innovation launched the i4Challenge in 2018. Winners gain access to partners, mentors, collaborators and potential customers and have access to a mentoring program through Basel Area Business & Innovation.
Students get help to develop their Industry 4.0 idea
The i4Challenge invites SME and startups to participate. This year, the i4Challenge also opened a “New ideas” track. This category is open to students, intrapreneurs, entrepreneurs and tech teams. Applicants in this category can apply by 2 November 2020. The winners can expect help in bringing their idea to market readiness. They gain access to the vast Basel Area Business & Innovation network as well as to the partners of the Interreg Upper Rhine 4.0 project. From January to June 2021 they also benefit from personalized coaching and mentoring from industry experts and from funding to further develop their idea. In addition, the winners gain access to a coworking space for six months at the site Jura of the Switzerland Innovation Park Basel Area.
