Five startups have been selected to participate in the Startup Camp Korea, powered by Innosuisse and managed by Swissnex. This program offers them the opportunity to explore the potential of their solutions in South Korea, one of Asia's most dynamic markets. The cohort is working on advancements in virtual reality interaction, quantum connectivity, precision positioning, athletes' mental health, and a sustainable approach to meat production.

The Startup Camp Korea allows participants to explore South Korea and learn how to do business in Asia and associated market entry regulations. Participants will benefit from tailored 1:1 guidance and receive feedback from experts on various topics including how to adjust their product to new market needs, setting a foundation that fosters R&D partnerships and technology validation. Moreover, the camp provides startups access to relevant industry players in South Korea. As a gateway to the South Korean market, the Start-up Camps can be an important catalyst for bilateral cooperation and projects, as exemplified by Terapet.  The hybrid program includes four online coaching sessions, preparation and debriefing sessions and a 1–2-week trip to Seoul.

Five startups have been selected from the Q2 Open Call. They are:

Sensoryx – Advancing next-generation technology for VR interaction. The company develops and licenses motion tracking infrastructure for spatial computing, Extended reality (XR), simulated reality and motion capture. Their patent-protected technology seamlessly integrates optical, ultrasonic, and inertial sensors to deliver unmatched precision and interactivity. This power-efficient technology works with any modern head-mounted display (HMD) without requiring hardware modifications.

myflow by MindMetrix AG – the ETH Zurich spinoff is revolutionizing cognitive performance monitoring by enabling sports professionals to track, analyze and optimize their mental training. Their device Myflow is powered by a pupil-based neurofeedback method, which allows users to self-regulate their brain’s arousal level. This new form of mental training allows athletes to enhance their performance.

onocoy – Enabling mass adoption of high precision positioning using blockchain technology. The company has built a community-powered GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System) reference station network that provides high-quality RTK (Real-Time Kinematic) corrections for ultra-precise positioning. The company ensures high data quality through rigorous data validation and by incentivizing operators of reference stations with rewards. The startup aims to quickly grow their community into the densest network of GNSS reference stations on earth and become a shared infrastructure for the high-precision GNSS industry.

sallea – Developing innovative edible scaffolds for structured cultivated meat and fish. The ETH spinoff develops a new approach to grow real, structured steaks and fillets using edible scaffolds—a special support system that helps the cells grow just like in nature. Founded by an all-female team, sallea’s vision is to make high-quality, sustainable meat and fish without harming animals or the planet.

Miraex– Founded in 2019, Miraex specializes in quantum interconnectivity and photonic sensing solutions. Miraex's core expertise includes quantum interconnects to scale up quantum computing, photonic sensing systems for harsh environments, and quantum converters that facilitate efficient electro-optical conversion. Their aim is to revolutionize quantum computing by connecting thousands of Quantum Processing Units via optical networking, mirroring the impact of interconnected GPUs on AI. So far, several prototypes of its quantum converters have been unveiled.

Earlier this year two life sciences startups benefited from the program in January this year: Spirecut, the startup developed a simple and efficient solution to treat carpal tunnel syndrome and trigger finger. Nagi Biosciences developed SydLab, the first, fully automated, high-content screening platform of drugs and chemicals using C. elegans nematodes.
