This week the first ever Swiss Mobile Basecamp was held. Participants were impressed by the quality of the speakers and the networking opportunities. One attendee had a special reason to be happy: Samuel Mueller, CEO of Scandit, won the Dragon’s Den competition.

On Wednesday the first Swiss Mobile Basecamp was held in Bern. The camp is an initiative to boost mobile start-ups in Switzerland and provide them with the tools and knowledge they require for success beyond Swiss borders. Top speakers from companies such as Skype, Red Bend and Nokia shared their knowledge in presentations, workshops and a mobile clinic, where the experts gave start-ups one-to-one feedback and advice.

The event attracted start-ups and investors alike, and their comments were very positive. Herbert Bay, CEO of Kooaba, a well-known and internationally successful young company, said: “After a long day, I took home a lot of new ideas.” Lukas André, managing partner at the investment company Affentranger Associates, was impressed by the quality of the speakers: “I attended a similar event in New York, but the presentations here were better.”
