ETH spinoffs Vyzn, Calvin Risk and EPFL spinoff Bloom Biorenewables developing new solutions to re-shape the construction, fintech sectors and chemicals, have been selected to join global accelerator programs. With support from industry experts and mentors, these startups will have the opportunity to refine their solutions and expand their networks, driving growth and development.

Vyzn has been selected to join the GROUNDBREAKERS Accelerator Program to support enhancing their expansion strategy and take the company to the next level. Backed by DGNB German Sustainable Building Council, Fraunhofer Institute for Industrial Engineering IAO and Hochschule für Technik Stuttgart, this program provides a space to learn, grow and transform insights into action. Vyzn is an ETH Zurich spin-off that leverages advanced technologies to address critical challenges in the construction industry, such as reducing CO2 emissions, resource waste, and improving energy efficiency. Their SaaS platform uses 3D/BIM models to analyze and optimize building sustainability, allowing for faster certification processes with labels like Minergie and SNBS.

Climate tech accelerator welcomes Bloom Biorenewables
Bloom Biorenewable is one of the startups selected for the Third Derivative, RMI's climate tech accelerator program, joining 43 new startups, including 26 new startups in the new Industrial Innovation Cohorts focused on decarbonizing steel, cement, and chemicals. The startups were selected based on climate impact, techno-economics, business model, and competitive landscape. During18 months, the companies will engage with mentors and their fellows to foster steady and rapid growth. The Lausanne/based startup develops technologies to valorize non-edible biomass. Their innovative biorefining approach, Aldehyde Assisted Fractionation, prevents undesired degradation during fractionation. Scaled to pre-industrial levels, customers have already validated the performance of Bloom's products in various applications, from high-value fragrances to widely used resins and plastics.

Calvin Risk goes to London
Founded as an ETH spinoff, Calvin Risk built a platform that uses adaptive assessments and continuous monitoring to provide a real-time overview of a company's entire AI portfolio, predicting potential risks (qualitatively and quantitatively) and their associated value-at-risk. The solution provides a modular framework for proactive AI governance with two core capabilities: governance digitization for internal directives and risk evaluations, and automated AI testing between development and deployment. The fintech startup has been selected among ten startups joining the 2025 FinTech Innovation Lab London program. This highly competitive, 12-week program that helps innovative startup fintech companies at various stages refine and test their value proposition with the support of the world’s leading financial service firms.
