Nicola Plain and the Blockchain Innovation Group with Mauro Cappiello have acquired TokenMarketCap.ch from from PostFinance’s innovation unit VNTR. The information platform for security tokens and the broader tokenized asset space was initiated about three years ago at VNTR to help shape the Swiss security token market.
TokenMarketCap aggregates publicly accessible data, in particular from tokenization service providers and security token issuers and makes it accessible to the users. The platform aims to bring more clarity and transparency to the market.
Today Nicola Plain and the VNTR team announced the acquisition. “Our vision is to significantly expand the platform’s data and information base, establishing it as the go-to source for all market participants”, explains Nicola Plain in a LinkedIn post. In addition, Plain and Cappiello will launch their own podcast where they will be delving deeper into the subject of security tokens with some of the driving forces in the industry.
Niclola Plain, the former CEO of Aktionariat, will be taking on the role of CEO, on a part-time basis. Mauro Cappiello, founder of Blockchain Innovation Group, will assume the role of CFO and contribute to shaping the strategic direction behind the scenes. “With TokenMarketCap, we are committed to actively supporting the development of this exciting and emerging market”, comments Nicola Plain.
Through the acquisition TokenMarketCap has become a Swiss simple company headquartered in Zug, owned and represented by Blockchain Innovation Group AG and Nicola Plain. The Blockchain Innovation Group was launched in 2018 and is an independent service provider.
