Ecorobotix and xFarm are two Swiss Agtech scale ups shaking up the agricultural sector with innovative solutions – an AI-Powered precision sprayer and digital tools for farm management. With the expansion into New Zealand, Australia and Brazil, the companies are set to become global leaders.

Ecorobotix is continuing its global expansion, with recent moves into New Zealand and Australia. In January, the company entered New Zealand by signing its first dealer partnership with New Zealand Tractors, a leading importer of agricultural machinery. This partnership introduces New Zealand farmers to Ecorobotix’s ARA ultra-high precision sprayer. Since then, the company has continued to grow its presence in both regions.

The company has also recently partnered with the Australian government in Queensland through the Department of Primary Industries as part of the Advanced Vegetable Mechanization Program, funded by Hort Innovation. This collaboration will see Ecorobotix’s ARA precision spraying technology undergo initial testing and demonstrations at the Gatton Smart Farm, before being deployed for further trials with growers. Additionally, new partnership agreements are in progress across both countries, further expanding its footprint in the region. Beyond New Zealand and Australia, Ecorobotix is present globally, with dealers in Canada, the UK, Argentina, Mexico, and Poland.

With offices in Switzerland and a subsidiary in the United States (Ecorobotix Inc.), the company has tripled its team over the past two years and continues to win awards for its innovative product.  Most recently, the ARA sprayer was named one of the Top 10 New Products at the World Ag Expo in California, while its new carrot algorithm won an award at the LAMMA event in the UK. Additionally, Ecorobotix received the Avantgarde Award in California from the Swiss-American Chamber of Commerce.

Xfarm taps into the Latin American market
Over the years, xFarm Technologies has established itself as a pan-European leader in providing digitalisation services to its B2B customers and small farms. The company has now entered the Latin American market through a strategic partnership with Checkplant, a Brazil-based company specialized in agricultural solutions such as the Farmbox platform for field management and monitoring. Checkplant is a leading producer of coffee, sugarcane, soybeans, cereals and legumes, whose agribusiness export value amounted to around $160 billion in 2024.

Checkplant has a significant track record and portfolio of large farms among its customers, covering 50% of the total area of cotton plantations and 11% of the total area of soybean plantations in Brazil, giving xFarm the platform to extend its reach in Latin America. The Swiss startup is already working on numerous projects focused on traceability, regenerative agriculture and MRV (Monitoring, Reporting, Verification).

The two companies are highly complementary and together will cover more than 12 million hectares worldwide. Their proprietary platforms, xFarm and Farmbox, which provide DSS (Decision Support Systems), agronomic models and a range of solutions enable farmers to make data-driven decisions and keep track of all their activities. Moreover, xFarm has experience in working with small and medium sized farms and supply chain projects, and the Checkplant team is very strong in working with farms that are larger than 1000 hectares.
