Swiss cleantech startup Unbound potential has secured a partnership with Amazon to pilot its innovative energy storage solution in one of their European logistics centers. This achievement comes after the startup won a spot in Amazon’s their sustainability accelerator. The team will collaborate with Amazon to help them transition to renewables and decarbonize their operations. Unbound Potential is developing membrane-less redox flow batteries aimed at enhancing long-term energy storage solutions for renewable energy. This technology addresses the growing need for efficient and scalable energy storage systems, particularly as reliance on intermittent renewable sources like solar and wind increases.

Embotech collaborated with Volvo
A provider of autonomous driving solutions, Embotech is specializing in decision-making software for industrial logistics applications. The startup has is collaborating with the Volvo Group through Campx by Volvo, Volvo Group’s global startup innovation arena for technology and business transformation, in a proof-of-value project, contributing to the development of future transport solutions. Together, the companies have developed a mission management solution for battery electric vehicles that optimizes trip planning, streamlines operations and reduces costs for commercial truck fleets. The proof-of-value project will run until Q4 of 2024.

Optiml gets recognition
Optiml, developer of a Real Estate Decision Intelligence platform enabling real estate asset managers and consultants to meet their financial and sustainability goals, has won the ULI Europe PropTech Innovation Challenge, an initiative of the premier global real estate association, the Urban Land Institute designed to foster innovation in the built environment. The ETH spinoff’s software is built on proprietary algorithms researched and validated over 5 years, leveraging AI to handle most complex datasets and requirements. Even with low data, the solution provides insights for portfolios and building assets such as indicative ESG due diligence, optimal decarbonization and investment strategies, detailed Net Zero renovation action plans, and alignment to company requirements over the entire building lifecycle.

Seprify wins cosmetic award
Seprify, formerly known as Impossible Materials AG, has been honored with the Cosmetic 360 Award, which recognizes innovation and excellence in beauty and cosmetic technologies. The company focuses developed Complexion Perfecting Cellulose Technology designed to replace titanium dioxide (TiO2), which has been classified as potentially carcinogenic and is facing bans across Europe, particularly in food applications. The first flagship product is a sustainable white pigment derived from plant-based material and is intended for use in various industries, including food, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, paints and coatings, and Inks.

Swiss Vault wins IEEE SustainTech Leadership Award
Swiss Vault, a specialist in sustainable data center solutions, has been awarded the IEEE SustainTech Leadership Award, highlighting the startup’s commitment to developing environmentally friendly technologies in the data center industry. The startup provides industry players including Genomics, Telecommunications, Seismic, Astronomy require an exceptional amount of data storage with solutions that ensures rapid analysis, with secure long-term storage at very low energy consumption. Swiss Vaults’ Software, Vault File System, and Hardware servers, reduce energy consumption by 50% or more for data storage, and reduce data volumes and server footprint, allowing more data to be stored in less space, with less energy and lower costs. The innovation marks a significant leap forward in sustainable data management, promising to drastically reduce the environmental impact of data centers worldwide.

Jaipur Robotics win Möbius Suisse Grand Prix
Jaipur Robotics, a pioneering Swiss startup, has selected as the winner of the Möbius Suisse Grand Prix for “Digital and Circular Economy”. The company impressed the jury particularly for the combination of AI software and hardware for waste recognition and selection, with a mission to optimize waste recycling and energy recovery. Waste management and recycling currently represent significant operating costs and untapped potential for commercial facilities and the industrial sector. This is fueled by a growing global population and increasing resource consumption. Jaipur Robotics is trying to close this gap by leveraging the power of artificial intelligence algorithms to revolutionize the current waste recycling ecosystem.
