
The regional jury of the Boldbrain Startup Challenge has picked the ten finalists who will present their innovative projects at the Award Ceremony, scheduled for Thursday, December 7th, at the Palazzo dei Congressi in Lugano.
The sixth edition of the Boldbrain Startup Challenge is coming to an end. The acceleration program that kicked off on August 31st has provided twenty selected innovative projects with an opportunity to develop and improve their initial idea thanks to five workshops and numerous coaching hours. On Friday, November 24th, the regional jury reunited at the West Campus of Università della Svizzera italiana to evaluate the participating projects and select the ten finalists that will be on stage on December 7th.
The regional jury, chaired by Luca Mascaro (Founder and CEO at Sketchin), Leandro Bitetti (Head of the Master in Business Administration with Major in Innovation Management SUPSI), Giorgio Calderari (Deputy Chairman of the Board of Helsinn Group), Nicoletta Casanova (CEO at FEMTOprint SA), Jacqueline Ruedin Rüsch (Founding General Partner at Privilège Ventures SA), and Daina Matise Schubiger (lecturer-researcher at the Centre for Management Skills and Entrepreneurship at SUPSI and Head of the Bachelor in Leisure Management SUPSI), examined the submitted documentation and listened to the pitch of each of the project teams, to then assess them based on the pre-established criteria.
The ten finalists selected by the regional jury that move to the next stage of the programme are (in alphabetical order):

The finalists come from very different sectors, ranging from ICT to healthcare and construction. Most of the finalists this year are based in Ticino.
The ten projects will pitch to the audience at the Award Ceremony on December 7th 2023, starting from 18:30, at the Palazzo dei Congressi in Lugano. The five main prizes of the competition are awarded by a national jury, while the sixth prize is assigned by the public voting conducted among more than 600 attendees expected at the Palazzo dei Congressi.
