The event features an experienced entrepreneur from your region: Özgür Genç, CEO & Co-Founder, Translation-X

About: Özgür is a graduate and researcher in neuroscience from the University of Bogazici (Istanbul), EPFL, University of California, and Biozentrum / Uni Basel. He co-founded the spin-off Translation-X, a company that is addressing the unmet medical need in autism therapeutics, impacting over 1% of the population with limited treatment options. The team, based at the University of Basel, comprises experts in the field, including Professor Peter Scheiffele in neuroscience, autism researcher Dr. Özgür Genç, and medicinal chemist Dr. Guido Koch. The discovery of the selective mRNA translation pathway as a converging point in autism spectrum disorders offers an innovative opportunity for autism therapeutics. Translation-X has won all three stages of Venture Kick, significant Innosuisse funding, as well as the Propelling Grant by the University of Basel.

Özgür will talk about his startup and share details about his entrepreneurial journey. He will also help answer some of your questions during the Q&A session:

  • How to become an entrepreneur?
  • How to validate my idea?
  • How to fund my idea?
  • How to find help to bring my idea to life?

You will also be introduced to different support programs available to new entrepreneurs:
