About the speakers:

Annamaria Conti is a Full Professor at IE Business School, an Associate Editor of Management Science, and a member of the Editorial Review Board of Strategy Science. She is also an academic mentor for the Creative Destruction Lab – Estonia. Previously, she was an Associate Professor at HEC Lausanne and an Assistant Professor of Strategic Management at the Scheller College of Business, Georgia Institute of Technology. Her research focuses on entrepreneurship and innovation, particularly the organization and performance of technology startups and venture capital investment strategies. Her work has been published in leading journals and has received several research awards. Her research has been cited by organizations like WIPO and the European Commission and featured in outlets such as Harvard Business School’s "Working Knowledge" blog, Science Careers, and Le Temps. Ranked among the top 5% of management researchers in German/Swiss/Austrian universities by the BWL Ranking of the Forschungsmonitoring, she previously worked as an economist for Caterpillar S.a.r.l. and various international organizations.

Danilo Messinese is an assistant professor in the Strategy Department at IE Business School. His research focuses on entrepreneurial strategy and how firms leverage and generate data to improve strategic decision-making and foster innovation. His research has been published in top-tier academic journals and has been featured in leading management publications including Harvard Business Review, among others. He received his PhD at the Bocconi University as well as MSc degrees in Mathematical Finance and Physics from the University of Bologna (Italy).
