Join us to learn about how the combination of two different cultures, academia and business, can turn into a productive collaboration. Prof. Hartley will describe his efforts to bring the best of these two worlds together to the service of science and patients.
In this workshop, Prof. Hartley will talk about the development path a biomedical discovery must take if it is to evolve from academia to application/market and how it is linked to a value chain of investment and return. He will describe the challenges his projects have faced along the way, and how they have been overcome. He will highlight key inflection points in the value chain and how these provide openings for increasing levels of investment.
The new Swiss Venture Capital Report was published on 26 January. It analyses 304 financing rounds closed in 2020 and includes further article such as an interview with Michael Hengartner, President of the ETH Board, and a list of Swiss "soonicorns".
