Exemplary, harmful objects are passing through the recycling stream unnoticed, the quality of feedstock is judged subjectively by humans, and recipes for creating quality feedstock are derived from best practices rather than measurable data. The UpCircle team, consisting of Dr. Hendrik Kolvenbach, Adrian Ensmenger, Fidel Esquivel, and Dario Strübin is using machine learning and AI to digitize the trillion dollar waste industry and solve those pain points.
