Apricot Therapeutics AG (APx), a spin-off from the University of Zürich, is positioning itself to become the Google maps of the cell by applying image-based systems biology approaches that were developed over 10 years at ETH and the University of Zürich's Pelkmans Lab. The problem we're solving is the inability to accurately predict how molecular structure-based compounds (e.g. drugs) impact the human cell while outside the human body. Closing this gap will mean a treating physician will have the ability (with high accuracy) to predict which drug will heal a patient. When the 4i technology platform is successfully adopted by e.g. i) Hospitals and/or ii) big Pharma, Apricot will help to achieve the holy grail in healthcare, by creating a new targeted medicine industry.
