Lists, launches and labels

I remember when I took part for the first time in the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona in 2006, few Swiss companies attended the world’s most important trade fair for mobile communication. This year it will be completely different. At the end of February, for the first time a Swiss Pavilion will showcase the pioneering products of no fewer than 19 selected Swiss start-ups. Other start-ups are present too. Dacuda will show the world’s first Larger Than Life (LTL) Panorama and LTL Photo solution running on Intel-based mobile devices at the Intel booth.
The western Swiss magazine Bilan presents 50 equally promising start-ups looking for funding in its latest issue, which is available on the newsstands this weekend. There is great interest in Bilan’s list and our article about it. The hope is that there are also investors among the numerous readers.
The Swiss Start-up Monitor team has written an exciting article for us about Swiss start-ups looking for investors. From its extensive database of several hundred young companies, the team examined which start-ups are currently seeking funding and how much.
TrekkSoft, zkipster and Lemoptix have already found backers, with all three finalising a financing round this week. Biognosys and Stagend.com have also been successful over the last few days: the two companies stood in front of the CTI Start-up Label’s certification board and are now allowed to officially carry the label.
The Swiss start-up week was also filled with exciting launches: a flower subscription with WeBloom is available for the first time in Switzerland; Axon Active provides an overview of the contact network with its new solution; start-up Veeting enables video conferencing over the internet directly in your browser; and Goodwall has started its environmental and humanitarian social network.

The new Swiss Venture Capital Report was published on 26 January. It analyses 304 financing rounds closed in 2020 and includes further article such as an interview with Michael Hengartner, President of the ETH Board, and a list of Swiss "soonicorns".
