
Multiple startups with new approaches to address pressing challenges in the health care, construction, and environmental sectors have collected awards in local and international competitions. Alongside cash prizes, some startups will receive extended support to further advance their solutions.
The BioInnovation Day 2025 brought together more than 250 key players of the Swiss Health Valley for the 10th edition of BIND-BioInnovation Day where 29 life science startups pitched their ideas. Two projects stood out with Artiria Medical winning the Best Startup Award (CHF 5,000 - Sponsored by Lenz & Staehelin). The Geneva-Based company is revolutionizing stroke treatment with a robotic neurovascular access system – a self-driving assistant for the brain. Designed to assist rather than replace surgeons, the system significantly reduces complexity and time required in stroke treatment. Geneva-based Reverso Therapeutics won the category Best Academic Prize, also securing CHF 5,000 Sponsored by (UNITEC & PACTT) to advance its next-gen anticoagulant. Inspired by molecules found in blood-sucking insects, their therapy combines safety, reversibility, and convenience.
Ylah impresses public voters
Presented for the second time, Trendtage Gesundheit Luzern’s Startup Award, is a public choice award recognizing innovative business ideas from young companies. For the #TGL2025 event, nine startups participated in the expo and were automatically entered into the competition. The top five startups were selected through public voting and digital health startup Ylah emerged as the winner during the final voting. The startup impressed the audience with its blended psychotherapy solution, integrating digital components into traditional therapy sessions. The company offers a web interface for therapists and a mobile app for patients.
Vaulted wins Tech4Regen IP award
As part of the 2025 Tech4Regen program, VAULTED has been honored with the prestigious Omnis-IP SA Innovation Award, which includes a CHF 6,000 consultancy package. The jury recognized VAULTED not only for its groundbreaking advancements in circular construction but also for highlighting the crucial role a robust IP strategy plays in their success. Their innovation has the transformative potential to reshape the construction industry, promote sustainable resource use, and significantly reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
Perovsikia awarded at the Innovation World Cup
The 16th Innovation World Cup which took place during the Hannover Messe with Top 17 Techpreneurs presenting their solutions on the Tech Transfer Stage, the world’s leading event for industrial transformation. Swiss startup Peroviska took home a prize in the category Energy. The Lausanne-based startup developed novel chemistry and digital printing technology to fabricate design-free perovskite solar cells for applications in wearables, consumer electronics, IoT devices, and sensors.
Solar Impulse SPEI Award10 companies
The Etat de Vaud and the Solar Impulse Foundation have partnered to accelerate the international expansion of 10 high-impact cleantech solutions. Through this collaboration with the Service de la promotion de l'économie et de l'innovation (SPEI), selected Vaud-based companies will receive tailored support and global opportunities to scale their innovations, reinforcing the region’s leadership in sustainable and profitable solutions. The selected startups are: Droople, Voltiris, ExerGo, AELER, Enerdrape, CleanGreens Solutions SA, TeraSol SA, Zaphiro Technologies, Insolight, and KITRO.
Pitch competition winners at AIT Brazil and Chile
The AIT Brazil & Chile Startup Exchange took place from 17-21 March providing 24 selected startups from Switzerland Brazil, and Chile with an immersive training on business model innovation, circular economy, AI for startups, unit economics, funding strategies, internationalization, and pitching. The program culminated in a pitching event with three winners from Switzerland. Aris Mukherjee from RTDT develops solutions for structural health monitoring and power performance optimization for wind turbines. Federico Martinelli-Orlando from TALPA Inspection provides advanced corrosion inspection technologies for hard-to-reach engineering structures such as reinforced concrete bridges and coated metal objects while Arka Banerjee from 80SBio GmbH aims to provide faster, cheaper and syndromic disease tests that can be done by anyone.
