Betterview, Modual, Anaveon and Watchibia have kicked off 2025 with the appointment of new leaders for their executive suite, assuming the roles of Chief Executive Officer, Chief Medical Officer and Chief Technology officer. They will support the companies to achieve their growth ambitions in Switzerland and beyond. 

As of this year, Ulrich Harmuth is the Chief Executive Officer at betterview, which has since its inception in 2021 established itself as the market leader in refractive surgery. The company has performed over 15,000 successful treatments. With the appointment of Harmuth, the company strengthens its positioning in Switzerland and further global markets. Harmuth brings with him extensive experience in the areas of corporate and international development and financial management, making him ideally placed to continue betterview's success story and provide new drive for growth and innovation, also internationally. ‘With Ulrich Harmuth, we have gained an outstanding leader who will guide betterview in the next phase of its development,’ says David Holenstein, co-founder and former co-CEO of betterview.

New CEO at Modual
Modual, Switzerland’s largest manufacturer of second-life battery technology for repurposing electric vehicle (EV) cells, has appointed Vincent Marbé as the new Chief Executive office to drive the company into the next growth phase. Marbé is an accomplished leader with a proven track record in the energy sector. He previously served as CEO of go-e, where he successfully combined technology, innovation, and growth to establish the company as a significant player in the renewable energy space. His expertise and strategic leadership will be instrumental as Modual seeks to expand its market presence.

Anaveon appoints Chief Medical Officer
Richard Sachse has been appointed to the position of Chief Medical Officer effective February 1, 2025, at Anaveon, the clinical stage, immuno-oncology company developing selective cytokine receptor agonists with the potential to therapeutically enhance a patient’s immune system to respond to tumors. Sachse brings more than 25 years of experience in the biopharma industry as a physician and scientist, and was most recently the Chief Medical Officer of SOTIO Biotech. In addition to registration studies, he is experienced in the design and implementation of translational programs to bridge research programs to the clinic. Prior to joining SOTIO, Richard led the medical, scientific, regulatory and pharmacovigilance activities as Chief Scientific Officer at Neovii. As Chief Scientific Officer/ Chief Medical Officer at Aeterna Zentaris, he was successful in achieving FDA approval of Macimorelin. This was preceded by steady growth through several managerial career steps at Bayer, Peptor, Schwarz Pharma, UCB and Boehringer Ingelheim.  “I am excited to be joining Anaveon at this pivotal time, with multiple programs in development that have the potential for wide utility in oncology, including in combination with other therapies,” says Sachse.

Alireza Ghias has assumed the role of Chief Technology Officer at Watchibia, bringing with him a wealth of expertise, combining a security-driven approach honed in the blockchain and banking industries with his extensive experience in game and app development. Founded by Olga Nijpels-Tishurova, Watchibia is developing a smart strap that perfectly fits a classical watch.
