AIRLIGHT ENERGY awarded in Morocco for solar power project

The project in which AIRLIGHT is involved was awarded with 4.5 million MAD (around 500'000 Swiss francs) and resumes the construction of the CSP plant that AIRLIGHT ENERGY is building in Ait-baha (Morocco). It will provide energy to a cement plant of the Italcementi Group.

AIRLIGHT ENERGY, as part of the consortium with CIMAR (Italcementi Group), ItalgenEner (Italcementi Group), University Ibn Zohr of Agadir (UIZ), Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich (ETHZ), was awarded for the applied research programs that IRESEN (Institut de recherche en énergies solaires et en energies nouvelles) presented in the framework of the InnoTherm competitions (I and II). The commencement, where also the Ministers of energy and of higher education and research of the Kingdom of Morocco, Fouad Douiri e Lahcen Daoudi participated, as well as the ambassadors of Switzerland and Germany, took place on the 30th October in Rabat.
 
The InnoTherm competitions (I and II) have been announced in February 2012 with the aim to support applied research and development projects in the field of renewable energy. Both competitions are part of the energy development strategy of Morocco. The kingdom of Morocco wants to become the standard-bearer of green energy production in North Africa.
 
Among the 72 participants from Universities and Moroccan and foreign industrial and research centers, 8 projects have been selected, including the consortium in which AIRLIGHT ENERGY is involved. The project was awarded with 4.5 million MAD (around 500'000 Swiss francs) and resumes the construction of the CSP plant that AIRLIGHT ENERGY is building in Ait-baha that will provide energy to the cement plant of the Italcementi Group.
 
AIRLIGHT ENERGY is a private Swiss company established in 2007 and based in Biasca (Ticino) that supplies proprietary technology for large-scale production of electricity using solar power and for energy storage.
