Extreme Tech Challenge Switzerland
Sangha Capital and the University of Zurich, amongst many other partners, are bringing XTC to Switzerland for the first time. This competition aims to help startups change the world for the better. Leading corporations, VCs, foundations, policymakers, universities and tech conferences will support the startups.
The values of the competition are aligned with the United Nations 17 sustainable development goals, which give a framework and empower startups to innovate facilitating 10 key categories that are inspired by the 17 SDGS.
Special category
The Swiss edition has a special award category focusing on sustainable luxury. The award recognises new companies taking up measures to make products sustainable in jewellery, fashion and more.
The Top 3 finalists from XTC Switzerland will advance to the XTC 2022 global finals. Further benefits include: access to investors and partners, mentorship and bootcamp, strategic collaborations and global visibility.
Participating in the award gives startups global visibility, access to investors, mentorship from industry leaders and experts, and strategic collaborations.
Deeptech startup Fotokite has participated and won one of the previous XTC competitions.
The new Swiss Venture Capital Report was published on 26 January. It analyses 304 financing rounds closed in 2020 and includes further article such as an interview with Michael Hengartner, President of the ETH Board, and a list of Swiss "soonicorns".
