
The regional jury of the Boldbrain Startup Challenge accelerator has selected the ten finalists who will present their innovative projects at the Award Ceremony, taking place on Wednesday, December 4, at the Palazzo dei Congressi in Lugano.
The seventh edition of the Boldbrain Startup Challenge is entering its final phase. The acceleration program, which began on August 29, offered the selected innovative projects the opportunity to develop and refine their initial ideas through six workshops and numerous hours of coaching provided by the program. Last Friday, the regional jury convened at the West Campus of the Università della Svizzera italiana in Lugano to evaluate the competing projects and select the ten finalists who will participate in the Award Ceremony, scheduled for Wednesday, December 4, starting at 5:30 PM at the Palazzo dei Congressi in Lugano.
The finalists are:
Deutelio - aims at the quick exploitation of nuclear fusion energy by magnetic confinement of the plasma with the Polomac configuration
Fima Global - advanced water filtration products designed to meet the highest standards of efficiency, sustainability, and ease of use
GraphSight – a startup that provides advanced solutions for renewable energy production forecasting, Team lead: Slobodan Lukovic
HISOLab - founded by experienced managers and talented engineers from the healthcare industry. The portfolio includes cutting-edge products tailored to specific needs
InVirtuoLabs - revolutionizing drug discovery by seamlessly integrating cutting-edge artificial intelligence with molecular simulations.
InfinityGen - high-resolution texture generation powered by state-of-the-art AI models.
Snaption - Industry 4.0 solutions that seamlessly integrate automated data collection from machines and ICT systems with intuitive, user-friendly interfaces designed for operators to monitor production systems and industrial machinery. https://www.snaption.tech/

The jury, chaired by Luca Mascaro (founder and president of Sketchin) and composed of Leandro Bitetti (head of the Master’s in Business Administration with a Major in Innovation Management at SUPSI), Nicoletta Casanova (co-founder, CEO, and chair of the Board of FEMTOprint SA), Paulo Gonçalves (academic director of the Executive Master’s in Business Administration at USI), Augusto Mitidieri (CEO of Amis Consulting SA), and Jacqueline Ruedin Rüsch (founding partner of Privilège Ventures SA), reviewed the submitted documentation and listened to the team presentations (pitches), basing their selection on predefined criteria to identify the most promising projects.
The finalists will present their projects to a large audience at the December Award Ceremony. During the event, the startups will compete not only for the prizes awarded by the National Jury but also for the sixth prize, which will be determined by audience voting during the evening at the Palazzo dei Congressi, where 600 attendees are expected.
Boldbrain is the accelerator in Ticino dedicated to innovative early-stage startups, organized by Fondazione Agire in collaboration with USI Startup Centre. Boldbrain Startup Challenge offers twenty innovative projects a three-month training program to solidify their business ideas. Sponsored and supported by the Division of Economy of the Canton of Ticino, with the significant contribution of BancaStato, the program starts at the end of August and concludes in December with the Award Ceremony. Participants compete for cash prizes totaling 120,000 francs and additional service prizes worth over 90,000 francs, courtesy of numerous sponsors.
