The next six months will be pivotal for nine Swiss startups, which just got accepted into accelerator programs in Switzerland and the US. Supported by global industry experts and mentors, the companies will advance their solutions while growing their network to boost their growth.

Nucleate, a nonprofit organization committed to empowering the next generation of biotech leaders, has reaved the 197 startups selected for its equity-free six-months Activator program. The teams will have the chance to translate their academic research into transformative life science ventures and gain access to a network of mentors, expert-led programming, legal support, and a suite of highly subsidized perks.

Five teams from Switzerland made it to the program. These are:
ZurEF, which is developing a liquid biopsy platform for non-invasive, rapid, and accurate detection and monitoring of brain tumors, leveraging proprietary biomarkers and advanced microfluidics technology. Unomr is developing a single-molecule protein modification sensor to revolutionize medicine; Parabolis aims to provide faster, targeted thrombolytic solutions. While NeXendia develops advanced diagnostic tools leveraging extracellular RNA fragmentomics in biofluids to enable non-invasive, highly sensitive early detection and monitoring of diseases. At Safety-Adaptor CAR, a team of scientists and business strategists are collaborating to shape the foundation of a future spin-off.

GENISUISSE supports Terensis and WissKit
During the previous selection meeting, two founding teams impressed GENISUISSE Zürich Ostschweiz with their innovative ideas, securing a spot in a three-year coaching program where they will be supported by experienced entrepreneurs. Terensis is an ETH spin-off developing ‘the Bloomberg for agriculture’. Their Crop Digital Twin combines satellite images and biophysical models to simulate the development of crops from sowing to harvest. With the ability to measure the influence of weather on agriculture, CDT can predict crop yield up to two months before harvest. These precise data insights support players along with the entire value chain, from producers to traders and retailers.

WissKit developed an AI-supported platform that generates teaching material in line with Curriculum 21. Their aim is to ease the burden on the Swiss education system and, above all, support overburdened teaching staff.

Unbound Potential joins Plug & Play Energy
Unbound Potential has been selected to join Silicon Valley's Plug and Play Energy's Program. Throughout the 3-month program, startups will gain hands-on support from industry experts, investors, and corporate partners. The program includes mentor-led workshops, private dealflow sessions, and curated introductions designed to accelerate their business growth. Startups will also have the opportunity to secure pilots, proofs of concept, and potential investment—all without equity requirements. Unbound Potential is transforming energy storage with a novel redox flow battery(RFB) technology that offers sustainable and scalable solutions for integrating renewables.

Nexilis joins Plug and Play in Warsaw, Indiana (US)
The Spring 2025 Plug and Play Tech Center Medtech program in Warsaw, IN, has kicked off with 11 startups, including Switzerland-based company Nexilis. During the next 20 weeks (approximately 5 months), the teams will work closely with the program's partners to advance their healthcare solutions. Nexilis is enhancing orthopedic surgery outcomes through novel bone reinforcement. Their Immediate Stabilization System (ISS) is set to revolutionize screw fixation in orthopedic surgeries by creating a stronger implant bed foundation and optimizing the surface area contact with the screw. This innovation improves screw performance and reduces the risk of screw loosening.
