SWISSto12, a satellite and Radio Frequency products manufacturer, has been awarded a USD 10 million contract to provide a European aeronautical OEM with equipment for improved safety at sea.

Headquartered in Lausanne and employing over 150 people in the U.S and Europe, SWISSto12 offers a broad portfolio of antenna systems, leveraging the company’s innovative designs and proprietary 3D printing technology to deliver next-generation RF communication and sensing products qualified for maritime, airborne and ground applications. The company has built the world’s largest IP portfolio in the use of 3D printing for RF product applications. Its RF products are lightweight, compact, robust and offer industry-leading performance that is ideal for applications in demanding environments such as at sea.

Its flagship product HummingSat is a small, yet powerful geostationary telecommunications satellite developed in collaboration with the European Space Agency (ESA) through its public-private-partnership program. Its customers include Satellite operators such as Inmarsat and Intelsat, and blue-chip industry leaders such as Thales, Lockheed Martin, and most recently Northrop Grumman to whom it supplied three fully integrated Radio Frequency (RF) Antenna Feed Chains for a communication satellite application.

The startup has now secured a USD 10 million contract to equip a European aeronautical OEM with next-generation Radio Frequency equipment. This announcement introduces a new category of antenna which will help to improve safety at sea, optimizing performance and throughput while enhancing coverage flexibility.
